Cupping

Cupping is a therapeutic technique that uses gentle suction to lift the skin and underlying tissue, helping to improve circulation, release muscle tension, and promote the body’s natural healing process.

The cups are placed on specific areas of the body—often the back, shoulders, or hips—and may be left in place or gently moved along the muscles. This creates a deep, relieving sensation similar to a massage, but with a different kind of pressure.

Cupping is especially helpful for:

  • Muscle tightness and pain

  • Neck, shoulder, and back tension

  • Stress and stagnation in the body

  • Recovery from physical activity

It’s common to have temporary circular marks after treatment, which are not bruises but a sign of increased blood flow to the area. These typically fade within a few days.

Cupping can be done as a stand-alone treatment or added to an acupuncture session to enhance results.
